Singapore, 8 March 2011 - The 100 tpd carbon dioxide (CO2) plant of Linde Gas Singapore (LGS) located on Jurong Island is now remotely operated from the Region South & East Asia Remote Operations Centre (RSE ROC) also located on Jurong Island.
The transfer of operational control took effect from 8 March 2011 and the event was witnessed by Chow Kok Ming, General Manager of LGS, Fay Tin Shee, LGS’s Operations Manager and the site’s and RSE ROC’s operations teams.
In a brief address to the team, Kok Ming stressed the fact that though operational control of the CO2 plant is being transferred to ROC, the expectation is that both the teams will work in collaboration to improve the plant’s performance.
Choo Kong Eng, RSE Tonnage Operations Lead, added, "It is timely we bring in a plant from LGS into ROC. This showcases the strong collaboration at the site. I am looking forward to the ROC bringing in improvements to the CO2 plant, and at sharing best practices between LGS and ROC."
The ROC was set up to build optimum efficiency in Linde's production facilities in the region. It was officially launched in 2 December 2009 with the effective transfer of operational control of the Apalit production facilities from the local team in the Philippines to the ROC.
The ROC serves as the ‘nerve centre’ for Linde's major production facilities in the south and east Asia region. It is able to remotely access data and track the perfomarnce of our operations in air separation, carbon dioxide and small hydrogen plants in the region. It helps to optimise plant reliability and efficiency while ensuring product quality for customers in the region.
